The role of Category Buyer in the General Merchandising Department involves managing the assigned category and selecting related products. Your responsibilities will include: - Identifying products, offers, and negotiating the best rates - Analyzing consumption patterns across various geographies - Ensuring profitable growth for the categories - Inventory control - Conducting competition benchmarking and market visits - Data analysis, planning, and forecasting - Sales growth, product enhancement, product lifecycle management - Preparing and presenting reports - Travel may be required The ideal candidate for this position would be someone from the FMCG (Sales GT background) or General Merchandising Product base industry (sales background) with a good understanding of the category. You should possess communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, coordination, follow-up, and team handling skills. Maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, so good interpersonal skills are needed.
