Skills & Competencies

To lead and grow the Retail and Project Materials Sales division of Techno Paints, focusing on paint material supply to independent houses, standalone apartment projects, and major builders. The GM will be responsible for sales growth, collections, market expansion, and team leadership to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow paint material sales in retail and project segments. • Identify new opportunities with independent house owners, small developers, contractors, and major builders. • Establish dealer and retailer network in potential markets for retail project sales. • Build long-term business relationships with construction firms, architects, and project consultants.

2. Sales & Collection Management

  • Drive sales and ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and collection targets. • Ensure pricing discipline, margin protection, and proper negotiation with clients. • Manage key accounts and ensure timely follow-up for order conversion and payment realization. • Track secondary and tertiary sales through retailers and field executives.

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of Regional Sales Managers, Sales Executives, and Site Coordinators for effective market coverage. • Define sales territories, targets, and performance KPIs. • Conduct regular training and performance reviews to enhance team effectiveness.

4. Customer & Market Relationship Management

  • Maintain excellent relationships with builders, contractors, and independent customers. • Handle escalations and ensure customer satisfaction through effective service coordination. • Collect regular feedback on product performance and pricing trends in the market.

5. Coordination with Internal Departments

  • Coordinate with Production, Dispatch, Supply Chain, and Accounts for timely supply and invoicing. • Work with Marketing to plan promotions and brand visibility activities in target markets.

6. Reporting & Control

  • Prepare periodic sales performance reports and present them to management. • Ensure credit control policies are followed and overdue accounts are minimized. • Track market competition and recommend proactive strategies.
