Job Description

General Manager

  1. Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials (molasses, grain, ENA, etc.), packaging materials, and other operational supplies.
  • Negotiate contracts and build long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure timely procurement with cost optimization while maintaining quality standards.
  1. Sales & Marketing (Domestic & Export):

  • Lead the sales strategy for ethanol, ENA, DDGS, CO2, and other by-products.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and price dynamics.
  • Explore new markets, develop customer base, and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  1. Logistics & Supply Chain:

  • Optimize inbound and outbound logistics to reduce transportation costs and delivery times.
  • Coordinate with transporters, warehouses, and distribution partners.
  • Ensure compliance with government policies related to movement of excisable goods.
  1. Commercial Planning & Budgeting:

  • Prepare commercial budgets and forecasts aligned with the companys financial objectives.
  • Monitor commercial KPIs such as cost per litre, sales realization, inventory turnover, etc.
  • Collaborate with finance team for costing, profitability analysis, and working capital management.
  1. Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to government regulations related to excise, GST, pollution control, FSSAI, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with legal and regulatory bodies as necessary.
  1. Team Management & Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team across procurement, sales, logistics, and support functions.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training programs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent in Marketing, Sales, or Business Administration from a reputed institution.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing the alcohol industry.
  • 15 years of experience in the distillery, sugar, ethanol, or FMCG sector with at least 5 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of excise norms, ethanol policies, and industrial procurement.
  • Proven track record in negotiating large-scale contracts and achieving cost efficiency.
