Your responsibilities will include: - Evaluating insurance applications to determine risk levels of potential clients. - Analyzing data to make well-informed underwriting decisions. - Communicating with agents and brokers to gather necessary information and clarify underwriting decisions. - Reviewing and adjusting existing policies to accommodate changes in risk or client situations. - Maintaining accurate records of underwriting decisions and client interactions. - Collaborating with claims and risk management teams to ensure comprehensive coverage. - Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes affecting underwriting practices. Required qualifications for this role include: - 3-5 years of experience in underwriting or a related field. Preferred qualifications: - Experience in general accident insurance. - Familiarity with relevant software and underwriting guidelines. Skills and competencies you should possess: - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Capability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment. - Effective problem-solving skills. In terms of education and certifications, a Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CPCU or AU are preferred.
