Job Description

JAbout the Role

The GEM Executive will be responsible for managing all activities related to the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) portal, including product listing, bid participation, order processing, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with government procurement guidelines.

Key Responsibilities1. GEM Portal Management

  • Create, update, and maintain product/service listings on the GEM portal.
  • Ensure all listings meet GEM compliance standards (pricing, documentation, specifications).
  • Manage catalog creation, category mapping, and product visibility.

2. Bid & Tender Management

  • Monitor GEM for relevant tenders and bid opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit bids within deadlines.
  • Coordinate internally for pricing, documentation, and technical details before bid submission.
  • Track status of submitted bids and follow up as required.

3. Order & Contract Handling

  • Manage purchase orders (POs) received through GEM.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Operations, Finance, Dispatch) to ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Upload invoices, shipping details, and other required documents on GEM.
  • Ensure compliance with GEM payment and delivery guidelines.

4. Vendor & Buyer Interaction

  • Communicate with government buyers regarding queries, orders, or clarifications.
  • Resolve issues related to bids, pricing, delivery, and payments.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with stakeholders.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain proper documentation of tenders, bids, POs, and contracts.
  • Ensure all required certificates, licenses, and registrations are updated on GEM.
  • Follow government procurement rules and GEM policies strictly.

6. Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on bids, orders, revenue, and activities.
  • Share updates with management on new tenders, opportunities, and risk areas.

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation:

  • Graduate in any discipline (BBA/B.Com/B.Tech preferred).
  • Additional certification in e-procurement / GEM is a plus.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in GEM portal handling, tendering, or government procurement.
  • Freshers with strong learning ability may also be considered (if trained).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the GEM portal, tender rules, and e-procurement processes.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic knowledge of taxation, invoicing, and documentation.
  • Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
