Job Role and Responsibilities: As the Senior Merchant , you will be a key player in ensuring the seamless development and execution of products from initial buyer communication through to the final shipment. Your duties will include: 1. Buyer Communication : Act as the primary point of contact for buyers, managing communication from product development to delivery. Collaborate with buyers to understand their needs and specifications for new product lines. Provide timely updates and solutions to buyers throughout the order process, ensuring their requirements are met. 2. Production Coordination : Work closely with the Factory Manager to ensure production timelines, quality standards, and shipment deadlines are achieved. Monitor production progress to ensure smooth operations, addressing any issues that arise promptly. 3.ERP Management (Visual Gems) : Ensure accurate and timely entry of all production-related data in the Visual Gems ERP system. Maintain records of inventory, production schedules, and shipment details to streamline processes and ensure accountability 4. Supplier & Processor Coordination : Liaise with fabric suppliers, processors, and other third-party vendors to ensure the availability of raw materials and timely completion of processing tasks. Oversee the quality control of materials and ensure that suppliers meet the brands premium standards

Key Responsibilities: 1. Seasonal Planning and Strategy: Develop seasonal sourcing plans in alignment with design, sales, and business targets. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times with vendors while maintaining cost-efficiency. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors for long-term collaboration. 5. Vendor Development: Develop new vendor partnerships to expand sourcing options and reduce dependency on existing suppliers. Ensure vendors adhere to ethical practices, compliance standards, and quality norms. Conduct vendor audits and evaluations to ensure continuous improvement. 6. Product Development and Costing : Oversee sampling and approvals for all categories. Ensure product costs are competitive and within planned budgets without compromising on quality. 7. Production and Quality Assurance: Monitor production schedules and ensure timely handover to the supply chain. Conduct quality checks during production and pre-shipment inspections to maintain standards. 8. Market Intelligence and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on global fashion trends, fabric innovations, and competitive landscape. Leverage market insights to make informed sourcing and product decisions. 9. Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with the marketing, retail, and sales teams to ensure alignment in product offerings. Communicate effectively with internal teams to address challenges and bottlenecks. 10. Reports and Documentation :• Prepare regular reports on sourcing, costs, vendor performance, and production status.• Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
