Position Summary Delivers control and movement to characters, creatures, objects, scenery and environment displayed within electronic games, websites or software products. Applies knowledge and uses technical process ability in techniques such as rigging and skinning, kinetics and basic cinematography. Collaborates with programmers and artists to balance seamless movements and optimized performance on the target platform. Applies developed skills, knowledge and proficiency in animation packages, such as 3ds Max, Maya, Substance, to develop work product. We are looking for a creative individual with knowledge of 3D and 2D art processes. The responsibilities of the artist include creating / editing animated sequences. Should be aware of the artist workflow involved to create an output. Key Responsibilities Should be able to create Organic 3D models, Rig, Texture, lighting, and Animation. (Using Blender, Maya or 3ds max) Ability to visually express concepts and ideas through drawings and sketches. Collaborating with Animators and other artists and attending meetings to discuss ongoing projects. Understanding the project requirements and conceptualizing creative ideas. Receiving feedback from Artists, animators, designers, and clients, and editing your creations based on the comments received. Troubleshooting any problems that arise during work on a project. Meeting with clients, Designers, and Producers to discuss and review projects and deadlines. Reviewing game arts and recommending improvements. Communicate with the game designer and development team in an iterative development process. Capable of quickly learning how to use new software and of maintaining current knowledge. Knowledge of production steps and understanding of creation processes. Computer skills in the primary illustration tools. The use of Photoshop and a graphics tablet is essential and indispensable. Knowledge of Illustrator is an asset. Knowledge of the technology used in games and multimedia, of its possibilities and its limits, and of 2D and 3D design tools. Bridging artwork (Assets) with Development team using Unity3D, should understand and solve the issues related to file formats. Skills Proven experience related 3d and 2d tools. (Unity/3ds max/Maya/Blender/Adobe Suite) Knowledge of Blender workflow would be great. Understanding asset optimization workflow. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 5+ years’ experience as an 2D/3D animator with a supporting portfolio. 2+ years of experience in Blender is Must. (Recent experience). Thorough knowledge of animation principles. Complete knowledge of animation tools: Adobe After Effects/ Trap code / Sapphire Ability to use standard illustration tools: Photoshop or Illustrator. Professional experience in the video game or multimedia industry, an asset. Strong communication and collaboration skills Education Preferably, a university (bachelor or Masters) degree in a related Fine Arts / Visual Communication field.
