Front Desk Receptionist

As the "face" of Vazhai, you are the first person our guests meet. In a high-traffic pure veg environment, the front desk is the heartbeat of the restaurant. You will manage the seating flow to ensure families and groups are accommodated quickly while maintaining a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Warm Welcome: Greet every guest with a traditional and professional welcome.
• Queue Management: Efficiently manage the waitlist during peak rush hours (especially weekend lunches and dinners).
• Seating Strategy: Coordinate with the floor staff to ensure tables are cleared and reset quickly for the next party.
• Menu Knowledge: Be able to answer basic questions about our vegetarian specialties, allergens, and "Jain" options.
• Takeaway Coordination: Manage incoming phone calls for home delivery and coordinate pickup orders at the front desk.
• Ambiance Control: Ensure the entryway and waiting area remain clean, organized, and inviting.

Preferred Skills & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant (specifically South Indian or Pure Veg) is a plus.
• Language: Fluency in [Local Language] and [English/Hindi] to communicate effectively with a diverse guest base.
• Professionalism: A neat, groomed appearance and a polite, patient attitude—even when the lobby is crowded.
• Multitasking: Ability to handle the phone, the tablet/register, and walk-in guests simultaneously.
• Tech Literacy: Ability to use a POS system and digital waitlist apps.
