Job Description

Project Context: Applied AI Engineering team handling technical onboarding and customer deployment — building integrations, connectors, workflow automations, AI agents, and acting as product experts to help customers extract value.

Experience Required (domain + overall): 3+ years domain experience in software development, systems integration, platform engineering; customer-facing experience is a plus.
Overall experience: 3 - 7 Years

Work Location & Model: Chennai (India) ; up to 30% travel for customer onsite work.

Soft Skills: Strong communication; 30% customer-facing; cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, CS, support; strong customer empathy; ability to run demos, PoCs, workshops; coordination-heavy role.

1. Understanding the Role

This role is NOT:

an AI research role
a model-building or deep ML engineering role
a hardcore backend/systems role

This role is closer to a Forward Deployed Engineer:

Customer-facing + hands-on engineering
Implementing workflows, automations, integrations using AI tools
Using LLMs, not inventing them
Stitching systems together via APIs, webhooks, and data flows
Owning customer problems end-to-end with clarity
Translating business needs into technical solutions
Presenting, explaining, and demoing work to clients

2. What We Need From the Candidate (Strict Requirements)

A. Communication & Maturity (Top Priority)

Candidates must demonstrate:

Clear, structured, fluent English
Confidence while speaking
Ability to articulate examples simply and logically
Calm, collected presence in customer scenarios
Strong storytelling and explanation skills
Professional maturity and self-awareness

B. Technical Competence (Baseline Requirement)

We need candidates who are technically solid — enough to build and deploy real customer solutions. Not researchers, but strong implementers.

Required:

Strong coding in Python
Good proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript
Experience with APIs, webhooks, integrations, and SaaS tools
Understanding of workflow automation
Applied knowledge of LLMs / RAG / semantic search (implementation-level)
Experience with serverless/cloud (AWS Lambda basics are enough)
Data mapping/transformation experience
