Formwork Manager (Site Based)

Job Purpose

The Manager Formwork will be responsible for leading all site-based formwork operations for real estate building projects, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality execution of shuttering/formwork works. The role requires hands-on supervision, workforce management, and coordination with contractors/vendors to achieve project timelines and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Execution

• Lead day-to-day formwork activities for slabs, columns, shear walls, beams, and lift cores.
• Supervise erection, staging, alignment, and dismantling of formwork at site.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and technical specifications.
• Resolve on-site challenges and provide technical guidance to supervisors and workers.

Workforce & Contractor Management

• Manage and monitor labor productivity and output on formwork activities.
• Allocate tasks to supervisors, foremen, and contractors for smooth execution.
• Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks to align site teams.
• Ensure contractors follow safety and quality standards strictly.

Material & Equipment Handling

• Monitor availability and proper usage of shuttering/formwork materials at site.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and timely shifting of formwork components.
• Track material reuse cycles and minimize wastage.
• Coordinate with stores/procurement for timely supply.

Safety & Quality Assurance

• Enforce strict compliance with safety procedures during formwork erection/dismantling.
• Inspect scaffolding, staging, and formwork supports for stability and safety.
• Ensure quality checks on alignment, plumb, dimensions, and finishing.
• Raise site quality issues and ensure corrective actions.

Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with structural engineers, planning team, and site execution managers.
• Coordinate with concrete, reinforcement, and finishing teams for seamless work flow.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports, site productivity records, and resource utilization updates.
• Report delays, risks, or material shortages immediately to project management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in building projects with hands-on site execution of formwork.
• Strong knowledge of system formwork (MIVAN) and conventional shuttering.
• Proven track record in high-rise residential projects.
