Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Patient Care Coordination:

Monitor admission, transfer, and discharge processes ensuring documentation and communication protocols are followed.
Coordinate with nursing, medical, housekeeping, and support staff to ensure timely delivery of patient services.
Address patient and attendant queries or concerns promptly and escalate unresolved issues.

2. Operational Oversight:

Supervise and manage daily floor activities, ensuring all resources (beds, equipment, staff) are optimally utilized.
Ensure proper upkeep of the patient care areas, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinate with engineering/maintenance, dietary, housekeeping, and biomedical departments as needed.

3. Staff Coordination:

Ensure duty rosters, staff deployment, and shift handovers are managed smoothly.
Liaise with nursing staff and department heads to ensure appropriate patient care.
Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and grooming standards on the floor.

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Ensure adherence to NABH standards, infection control protocols, and hospital SOPs.
Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and feedback mechanisms.
Maintain proper documentation and reporting for incidents, grievances, and operational issues.

5. Communication & Reporting:

Serve as the communication link between the floor and management for any operational or clinical issues.
Submit regular reports on bed occupancy, staff performance, patient feedback, and incidents.
Assist in managing emergency situations (e.g., code blue, fire, disaster management).
