Floor Co-ordinator

The Floor Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a hospital floor to ensure smooth patient flow, timely services, and coordination among departments. This role acts as a liaison between patients, medical staff, nursing teams, and support departments to maintain high standards of patient care and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers on the assigned floor Ensure all patient-related services (diagnostics, pharmacy, housekeeping, dietary, etc.) are delivered efficiently Act as the first point of contact for resolving patient or relative complaints or concerns on the floor Liaise with doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to facilitate timely treatment and services Maintain and update daily floor reports, patient census, and documentation logs Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures Coordinate with the housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness and hygiene on the floor Monitor equipment availability and functionality; escalate maintenance issues as required Train and guide junior staff or interns (if applicable) Support emergency preparedness and assist in code situations (e.g., Code Blue, Code Red) Escalate operational challenges or delays to the Floor Manager or relevant department heads Key Skills & Competencies: Strong organizational and coordination skills Good interpersonal and communication abilities Problem-solving attitude with a calm and composed demeanor Basic understanding of hospital information systems (HIS) Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment Knowledge of hospital operations, patient rights, and healthcare regulations.
