Job Description

Fleet Operations Manager

Location:

Experience: 6+ yrs.

Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate day-to-day fleet operations during the assigned shift, ensuring timely vehicle deployment, compliance with safety standards, effective utilization of resources, and smooth execution of transport activities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise fleet operations during the assigned shift, ensuring all vehicles are deployed as per schedule.
Allocate drivers, vehicles, and resources based on trip requirements and customer demands.
Monitor vehicle movement, track trips, and ensure on-time departures and arrivals.
Plan shift-wise loading/unloading, vehicle turnaround, and yard management.
Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and customer service teams for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with safety, RTO regulations, permits, and insurance requirements.
Maintain shift records (trip sheets, fuel usage, duty hours, incidents, etc.).
Resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, driver shortages, or route deviations.
Support drivers with route guidance, schedules, and compliance policies.
Escalate repair/maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team.
Conduct shift handovers with clear updates to the next in-charge.
Report shift performance metrics (on-time trips, mileage, utilization, downtime, etc.) to management.
