Firewall Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

·        Design, deploy, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure across platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Check Point)

·        Develop and manage firewall rule sets—define source/destination IPs, ports, protocols, high‑availability configurations, access policies, NAT

·        Track network traffic and security alerts; investigate anomalies, perform incident response

·        Troubleshoot security‑related network issues while ensuring business continuity

·        Collaborate with IT, network, and security teams to align secure network architecture

·        Perform firewall policy audits, reviews, documentation, and change management

·        Stay current with cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and firewall technology updates to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or similar field

·        3+ years of hands‑on firewall or network security engineering experience

·        Hands‑on expertise with multiple firewall platforms: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Check Point, AWS/Azure Firewall

·        Solid grasp of TCP/IP, routing, VPN, VLAN, ACLs, intrusion prevention/detection, SIEM

·        Preferred certifications: PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP, Security+

·        Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; effective communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders
