Fire Fighting Engineer

To provide assurance of availability of fire safety system all the time by maintaining emergency equipment, providing supervision and guidance to fire team and taking proactive measures for system functioning and improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Man-power management for no failure on demand
• Maintenance of emergency vehicles, fire hydrant system, control room.
• AMC for fire system maintenance and bill processing, SAP understanding.
• Periodic testing of all fire equipment
• Organize periodic training for ERT members. And engage team from time to time for keeping the system live.
• Active participation in Responsible care and IMS activities.
• Responsible for Daily plant round to identify the unsafe act, unsafe condition, near miss and report the same in EHS software.
• Responsible for implementing various safety procedures in fire activities.
• Responsible for Inspection and availability of various equipment/safety shower/foam monitors/SCBA/portables equipment/vehicle/machine etc. on regular basis.
• Take proactive control measures to ensure Zero fire cases at Plant.
• Conduct mock-drills and tabletop drills on various emergency scenarios as per schedule.
• Responsible for co-coordinating and ensuring participation of plant for EHS days celebration to enhance safety awareness.
• Ensure proper house keeping in fire pump house and fire installations.

Desired skills :

• Graduation in Fire (BE/BTech) with 5+ yrs/ BSc (Fire) with 8+ yrs exp. preferably in MAH Units/ Hazardous Chemical industry.
• Diploma in industrial safety will be an added advantage.
• Overall knowledge of th

  e Fire standards, IS-13039, NBC, industrial safety, Factory Act, Gujarat factory Rules, IS14489, ISO 45001/14001 standards.

• Knowledge of legal compliance, Statutory & regulatory requirements and firefighting/ first aid.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work well in team.
• Knowledge of Legal requirements , IS standards, communication with Venders, Auditors, Statutory authorities.
• Coordinate with mutual aid members for emergency support.
• Coordinate with internal customers for provising emergency support and healthyness of emergency equipment
