What does your job as Financial Controller at Rijk Zwaan look like?

As a Financial Controller at Rijk Zwaan, you play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance while supporting strategic decision-making across the subsidiary. You will work closely with management and internal teams to provide insights that help shape our future.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Supporting Management

• Analyse and interpret financial data, prepare reports, and advise management on key decisions.

2. Reporting

• Prepare monthly management reports, including Balance Sheet and P&L.
• Develop long-term financial plans and monitor actuals versus budget.
• Deliver operational and cost/profit centre reports, plus any additional reporting as required.

3. Accounting

• Manage day-to-day accounting processes.
• Sort and analyse data from the accounting system, identify anomalies, and explain variances.
• Ensure smooth finance operations across AP, AR, FA, Bank, Payroll, and GL.
• Establish a strong internal control environment.
• Coordinate audits (statutory, group, tax, and internal).

4. Tax

• Prepare yearly income tax declarations.
• Handle monthly tax filings (GST, direct taxes, TDS, etc.).
• Manage monthly import/export declarations.

5. Guidance

• Support and guide Assistant Accountants in their daily work.

6. Communication

• Maintain close contact with management, local departments, and headquarters.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, company secretary, bankers, customers, and suppliers.
• Partner with internal teams on financial topics.

Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments. The role requires someone with a global mindset and an open, proactive attitude who can navigate complex financial environments with high integrity and professionalism. You will be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance. Experience with internal controls, audit coordination, and financial planning will be highly valued, as will a demonstrated ability to support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

• Experience: 10–20 years in a similar profile
