Job Description

As a Financial Controller and Strategist at Kanerika, you will play a crucial role in both financial stewardship and strategic financial planning, supporting the fast-scaling global business. Your responsibilities will include: - Maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards. - Coordinating internal and external audits to ensure statutory, SEZ, GST, and tax compliance. - Managing financial documentation by liaising with vendors, legal, and banks. In terms of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will be responsible for: - Building and updating financial models for revenue, expenses, and growth scenarios. - Tracking burn rate, gross margins, and EBITDA trends across services & SaaS products. - Providing monthly dashboards and reports to the CEO/CFO with actionable insights. - Conducting variance analysis (budget vs actuals) with root cause and impact mapping. You will also be involved in Investor and Board Readiness by: - Maintaining and updating investor pitch decks, financial disclosures, and cap tables. - Supporting due diligence, data rooms, and investor queries as required. - Aligning business strategy and financial forecasts into unified narratives for stakeholders. Additionally, as a Strategic Business Partner, you will: - Collaborate with BU heads on pricing, cost optimization, and resource planning. - Anticipate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies. The following tools & skills are required for this role: - Strong expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint. - Familiarity with Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software. - Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, or dashboard tools is a plus. - Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills. - Working knowledge of India & US accounting standards and compliance frameworks. The qualities valued by Kanerika include: - Being highly reliable and detail-oriented. - Ability to handle confidential data and board-level reporting. - Strong business acumen with a bias for action. - Proactive mindset and a natural problem-solver. Bonus qualifications (not mandatory) include: - Prior experience in a consulting + SaaS dual business model. - Experience supporting valuation work for Series A/B fundraising. - Exposure to global entity structuring (US-India transfer pricing, etc.).
