Financial Analyst - Lease Accounting

As a part of our team at Stantec, you will be responsible for reviewing lease and sublease agreements to assess IFRS accounting implications, updating CoStar leases database, and coordinating changes. You will also be preparing complex journal entries for lease accounting and internal allocations, performing related balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting in the 5-day period end close process by promptly identifying and correcting issues. Your role will also include ensuring compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures. Your key responsibilities will include: - Reviewing lease and sublease agreements to assess IFRS accounting implications - Updating CoStar leases database and coordinating changes - Preparing complex journal entries for lease accounting and internal allocations - Performing related balance sheet reconciliations - Assisting in the 5-day period end close process by promptly identifying and correcting issues - Ensuring compliance with company policies, practices, procedures Your qualifications and skills should include: - Effective communication skills, including written and oral English language competency - Detail oriented individual with high degree of accuracy in analyzing contracts, data, and financial reporting - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and firm deadlines - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams - A proactive and responsive customer service approach - Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrating initiative and assertiveness - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while remote In terms of education and experience, you should have: - An accounting degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) - Minimum of two years of IFRS 16 (Ind AS116) related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related real estate experience - Experience with Oracle, CoStar Real Estate Manager, and BlackLine would be considered an asset Please note that the primary location for this role is in India, specifically in Pune. This is a full-time position at a non-managerial job level, with no travel requirement.
