Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant at Wells Fargo Capital Markets Middle Office, you will play a crucial role in supporting profit and loss functions in Hedge Fund Accounting. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the front office business side to perform quantitative hedging analysis, model bonds for new deals, and manage daily/monthly accounting and derivatives accounting financial reports. You will be the subject matter expert in derivatives/hedge accounting rules and will provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters. Key Responsibilities: - Provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters - Perform complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, developing financial statements and regulatory reports - Gather and review financial data for financial and regulatory reports - Review data from the general ledger, unit reports, and various financial systems to ensure accuracy - Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications - Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems - Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies - Provide functional advice and training to individuals - Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements - Collaborate and consult with stakeholders throughout the enterprise Qualifications Required: - 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting, or Risk Reporting experience - Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and Dodd-Frank - Ability to oversee daily and monthly accounting activities related to funding/investments/derivatives/hedging activities - Experience in developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring policies, procedures, reports, and controls - Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex products and resolve trade issues - Participation in Capital Markets Middle Office cross-functional planning and project management - Strong accounting background and Fixed Income product knowledge - Experience with project management and UAT - SQL knowledge and experience in Python In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team and gain exposure to various front office business lines.
