In this role, the individual will be part of the Data Quality Management team responsible for working closely with various partners including business, Finance, and IT to drive data integrity across the enterprise. This includes applying data quality management techniques to ensure the finance data is fit for purpose. By understanding the evolving financial data requirements, identify areas where technology or processes can be used to improve data quality, and adapt the data integrity approach as required.
The individual should be able to demonstrate strong collaboration skills as they will work closely with Finance, Run Support, and Data Governance teams, as well as IT partners across the organization to drive timely issue resolution and ongoing data quality improvement projects to prevent recurrence of identified data defects.
Potential candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of financial processes (financial planning, accounting and reporting) and an understanding of the interdependencies of good quality data to support Finance. Experience in data quality management, data analytics and visualization, and creating summary data dashboards will be helpful. Possess strong business acumen and ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
They should have experience in identifying and resolving critical data defects to support financial activities and would benefit from having a solid understanding of SAP Finance and Anaplan, and experience in understanding financial data lineage across systems. It is essential that the individual approaches the role with an enterprise and agile mentality.
This role requires flexibility to align with EMEA time zones. Some overlap with global teams may be required
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads Data Quality forums to drive dialogue and collaboration across key partners.
- Communicates data quality results and trends to Business, Finance, and IT partners including Senior Leadership
- Utilizes data analytics and business knowledge to identify, quantify, and summarize data issues
- Defines critical data quality metrics (e.g., accuracy, completeness, validity) to manage the quality of financial data
- Creates and coordinates the designs of the data quality scorecards and reports and works with the technology teams for development of data quality monitoring solutions
- Identifies and prioritizes proactive data quality actions and remediation to drive improvements in data quality towards resolution
- Supports analysis to identify root cause, impact, and severity of data quality issues
- Confirms actions taken have resolved the issue, mitigated the risk, or provided an acceptable contingency
- Supervises data quality service level agreements with Data Owners and Data Stewards
- Drives data profiling efforts and helps define data quality business rules for each prioritized data object and element
- Organize and deliver or facilitate data quality training to targeted business partners
Basic Qualifications
Education: Preferred qualifications or certifications includes:
- A Bachelor s Degree is required, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
Experience and Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 10 years of post qualification experience in Finance with a Data Analytics Concentration, Financial Technology & Analytics (FinTech), Finance Data Analytics is required
- Experience working on data integrity issues is required, including identifying and resolving critical data defects in a timely manner to support key financial activities is required: SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI skills preferred
- Experience with data quality management, data analytics, and data visualization/storytelling is required
- Innovative and continuous improvement mentality with the ability to translate sophisticated business operations into streamlined process design is required
- Foundational project management skills, along with organizational change management skills and capable of working in ambiguous situations, is required
- Advanced skills in MS Office is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
- Ability to develop strong relationships with key business partners at all levels of the organization is required
- Proactively identifying and mitigating process risks within a multi-functional, global enterprise is required
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with SAP Central Finance, S/4 HANA or other data warehouse technologies, and Anaplan or other planning/budgeting systems is highly preferred
- Experience in Data Quality tools like Informatica, eHub is highly preferred
- Experience in reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office, or other is preferred
- Experience working within Service Management or similar demand intake tools is preferred
