About The Role In the position of Finance Assistant, you will hold a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of a rapidly expanding, socially responsible Australian company. You will be tasked with managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities, maintaining precise financial records, conducting account reconciliations, assisting with reports, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and Australian tax laws. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Reconciliation - Execute timely and accurate bank reconciliations Month-End & Reporting - Aid in month-end and year-end closing procedures - Generate required financial reports and summaries for the Head of Finance Compliance & Tax - Support in meeting Australian tax requirements, including GST and BAS reporting - Collaborate with external accountants and auditors when necessary - Manage financial records and documentation for compliance and audit purposes Process Improvement - Assist in initiatives focused on system enhancement and finance process automation - Help in documenting financial procedures Other Responsibilities - Offer process suggestions and improvements beneficial to the team - Contribute to team objectives as required - Undertake other assigned tasks and duties from the client About You - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification (mandatory) - At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles - Previous experience with Australian businesses or knowledge of Australian accounting and tax standards (preferred) - Proficiency in Xero and Excel - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Strong focus on detail, accuracy, and ethical conduct - Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting Buddle Benefits Included - Health insurance - Internet allowance - KPI incentive program - Fortnightly virtual happy hour - Annual group offsites What to Expect in the Hiring Process After successfully passing the initial screening, candidates will undergo various assessments to evaluate suitability and preparedness before proceeding to client interview endorsement.
