Job Description

Amazon and MX Player recently joined forces to accelerate premium free entertainment for 250 million users in India. With this acquisition, Amazon merged two of India s most popular free AVOD (or ad-supported video on demand) services MX Player and Amazon miniTV into one service Amazon MX Player. We seek engineers who can help us shape and build Amazon MX Player.
Youll be part of the team which builds unique OTT viewing experiences for our customers, and the features you build will have a direct impact on the Amazon MX Player customer experience. We are seeking an engineer who can channel their passion for movies and TV entertainment to work backwards from the customer to help us achieve our vision. In this role, you will develop new features for Amazon MX Player, working with your engineering team, product managers, and UX designers to build web-based products that delight our customers. You will own customer facing features through the entire life-cycle, from design, implementation, testing, deployment and into production. You will work to optimize applications for performance and reliability. Basic qualifications Programming experience with at least one modern software programming language including object-oriented design. A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field) Understanding of the tools of the trade, including an understanding of any of JavaScript / Node Js). Proven educational track record with sound data structure and algorithm knowledge Preferred qualifications A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of Software Development experience. Strong coding skills with an emphasis on object-oriented principles, particularly in languages like JavaScript and Node.js. Possess an extremely sound understanding of basic areas of Computer Science such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented Design, Databases. Good understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, Document DB, Lambda, API Gatewayetc. Great problem solving skills and propensity to learn Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
