Job Title: Apparel Designer Industry : Garment & Apparel Industry Location: Kolkata Job Type: Full-Time Budget : Upto 12 LPA About the Organization : Indian clothing company which makes knitted garments. The Company is primarily engaged in the manufacture of hosiery products in knitted undergarments, casual wears and thermal wears. It produces innerwear, casual wear, thermal wear and sleepwear for men, women, and kids. Key Responsibilities: Design Development: Conceptualize and design original women's wear collections, including ready-to-wear, evening wear, and seasonal pieces. Trend Research: Conduct thorough research on current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands to inform design decisions. Sketching & Technical Specifications: Create detailed sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings using CAD software. Fabric & Trim Selection: Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments that align with design concepts and brand aesthetics. Collaboration: Work closely with pattern makers, sample makers, and production teams to ensure designs are accurately executed. Fittings & Adjustments: Participate in fittings, providing input on garment fit and construction, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes. Quality Control: Oversee the production process to ensure high-quality standards are maintained from concept to final product. Presentation: Present collections to buyers, sales teams, and other stakeholders, effectively communicating design concepts and brand vision. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. Minimum of 5 - 6 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in women's wear. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD. Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and pattern making. Excellent sketching, illustration, and technical drawing skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and presentation skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with sustainable and ethical fashion practices. Knowledge of global fashion markets and consumer behavior.
