The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building operations and maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient workplace environment. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance day-to-day operational needs while implementing strategic facility improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily facility operations including building systems, maintenance, cleaning, security, and space management
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend asset life and reduce operational costs
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure quality service delivery within budget
Coordinate workplace modifications, renovations, and relocation projects
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Develop and manage facility operating budgets and capital expenditure plans
Respond to emergency situations and implement appropriate protocols
Lead and develop the facility management team including technicians and support staff
Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating costs
Maintain accurate records of building systems, warranties, and maintenance activities

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
7+ years of experience in facility management or related roles
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety)
Experience with facility management software and CMMS systems
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
Problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach
Professional certification (FMP, CFM, or similar) preferred
