Fabric Merchandiser

Role Overview: As a Fabric Merchandiser, you will collaborate with vendors and clients like Pepe Jeans, Siyaram's, Raymond, etc., for fabric orders, sample approvals, and production timelines. Your responsibilities will include sourcing raw materials, developing new fabrics based on buyer requirements and seasonal trends, and managing end-to-end order execution, including sampling, bulk order follow-ups, and ensuring on-time deliveries. Key Responsibilities: - Vendor Coordination: Engage with vendors and clients to handle fabric orders, sample approvals, and production timelines effectively. - Fabric Sourcing & Development: Source raw materials and oversee the development of new fabrics in alignment with buyer needs and seasonal trends. - Order Management: Take charge of the entire order execution process, including sampling, bulk order follow-ups, and ensuring timely deliveries. - Quality Assurance: Coordinate fabric inspection procedures to guarantee compliance with quality standards such as shrinkage, GSM, shade consistency, and fastness. - T&A Management: Monitor the Time & Action calendar diligently to meet deadlines from sample development to final dispatch. - Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cost sheets, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and production tracking. - Trend & Market Research: Stay abreast of textile trends and innovations to contribute to design and sourcing decisions effectively. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Textile/Fashion Merchandising or related field. - Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in fabric merchandising within the apparel or textile industry. - Strong knowledge of various fabric types, textile processes, and garment applications. - Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills. - Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MIS systems, and handling documentation.
