Job Description

Job Purpose:

To manage the complete fabric lifecycle for knits garment production—including knitting, dyeing, and finishing—ensuring timely availability of quality yarn and fabric while optimizing cost, quality, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Yarn Inventory Management:
  • Coordinate with spinners, mills, and suppliers for timely yarn delivery.
  • Maintain inventory based on production forecasts.
  • Evaluate and onboard cost-effective, reliable vendors.
  • Yarn Dyeing & Color Management:
  • Plan and monitor yarn/fabric dyeing with internal or outsourced units.
  • Standardize dyeing methods (reactive, vat, azo-free, etc.) per fabric type.
  • Ensure consistency in color and fastness; approve lab dips and maintain SOPs.
  • Fabric Development & Quality Control:
  • Define technical specs (GSM, width, shrinkage, etc.).
  • Conduct quality checks for defects, feel, and finish.
  • Work closely with knitting units and QC teams for quality output.
  • Fabric Finishing & Storage:
  • Coordinate finishing processes (stentering, washing, softening, etc.).
  • Ensure safe and organized storage of raw and finished fabric.
  • Vendor & Production Coordination:
  • Liaise with mills, dye houses, and knitters for smooth operations.
  • Resolve production or quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records (yarn movement, dye batches, QC reports, etc.).
  • Track fabric yield, wastage, and consumption.
  • Share weekly status updates with management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Textile Engineering or Fabric Technology.
  • 5–8 years of experience in knitted fabric production.
  • Strong knowledge of yarn types, dyeing techniques, and knitting processes.
  • Experience with both knits and wovens preferred.
  • Excellent coordination, inventory management, and vendor handling skills.

  • Ability to work with small-scale/local knitters.
  • Hands-on problem-solving mindset.
  • Passion for Indian textiles and sustainable practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
