Exterior Design Engineer

As an Exterior Design Engineer, your role involves generating CATIA V5 Body Engineering CAD concepts and solutions for Door Trims. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing exteriors, underbody components, and ornamentation commodities such as Aero trays, Wheel arch liners, Heatshields, Active Vanes/shutters, etc. - Utilizing CATIA V5 & V6 for Generative Shape design, Part Design, Assembly & Drawing workbench. - Creating parametric 3D proposals in Catia with editable history, defining materials, and generating components and assembly drawings. - Conducting packaging studies, environment checks, kinematics simulations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and functional requirements. - Demonstrating a good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly). - Ensuring system, sub-system, and components meet required interfaces, DVA, Optical, and Perceived Quality targets. - Following company goals and strategies, maintaining teamwork plans aligned with vehicle programs, and communicating with stakeholders. - Ensuring project deliverables are met and data is up to date with required levels of maturity. Essential qualifications for this role include: - Extensive experience in using CATIA V5. - Good design skills with previous experience in Exterior Trims/Ornamentation/Black Trim commodities. - Successful track record in delivering projects within the automotive sector. - Familiarity with Team Centre Engineering (TCE). - Engineering knowledge of defined component/system design, function, performance, production, and manufacturing requirements. - Excellent communication skills across all levels. - Proficiency in PC applications like Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, and Word.
