This collaborative research initiative brings together universities, applied science institutions, and stakeholders to develop innovative, sustainable heating and energy solutions in urban neighbourhoods. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of integrated spatial and energy planning tools, supporting the acceleration of the energy transition in cities.

Requirements

– Master’s degree in spatial planning, geography, geo-information science, environmental science, or a related discipline with a focus on GIS for society– Strong analytical and research skills– Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis techniques– Interest in visual communication of spatial data– Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English (Dutch language proficiency is required for case studies)– Ability to work both independently and as part of a team– Interest in interdisciplinary research and stakeholder engagement
