Job Description

Description

The role involves managing electrical operations, preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards. The candidate will be responsible for handling HT/LT systems, DG sets, UPS, VFDs, HVAC electricals, and utility equipment like chillers, compressors, boilers, WTP/ETP.

Essential Functions:

Electrical Maintenance & Operations

Ensure smooth operation of electrical systems, panels, HT/LT substations, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and VFDs.
Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in compliance with GMP and safety standards.
Monitor and maintain HVAC, cleanroom, and utility-related electrical systems (AHUs, chillers, compressors, WTP, ETP, boilers, etc.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain and update SOPs, logbooks, calibration records, and maintenance reports as per pharma regulatory requirements (GMP, FDA, MHRA, etc.).
Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, statutory compliances, and energy conservation guidelines.
Project Execution
Support installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new electrical equipment and systems.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams for project execution within timelines and budgets.
Energy Management
Monitor power consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Conduct load analysis and optimize electrical system efficiency.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
Diagnose faults in electrical systems and implement corrective actions.
Suggest and implement improvements in reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in regulatory audits (USFDA, MHRA, WHO, etc.) and ensure compliance for electrical/utilities systems.
mplement and monitor electrical safety programs, conduct safety training, and ensure LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) compliance.
Prepare risk assessments, root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and deviation reports related to electrical incidents.
Support calibration and periodic testing of critical instruments and electrical devices.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects and implement energy-saving initiatives across the site.
