ETL Developer

Role Overview: As an ETL Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing efficient, scalable SSIS packages to extract, transform, and load data between systems. You will translate business requirements into technical ETL solutions, integrate data from multiple sources, and optimize data movement for high-volume environments. Your role will also involve error handling, testing, deployment, documentation, collaboration with various teams, and ensuring compliance with data governance regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop efficient, scalable SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading - Translate business requirements into technical ETL solutions using data flow and control flow logic - Integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL Server, flat files, APIs, Excel, etc. - Implement business rules and data transformations including cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and deduplication - Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data transformations and staging logic - Optimize SSIS packages and SQL queries for performance tuning - Develop error-handling mechanisms, event logging, and testing strategies for ETL pipelines - Package, deploy, and schedule SSIS solutions across different environments - Maintain documentation for ETL designs, data flow diagrams, and job schedules - Collaborate with various teams to understand data needs and provide technical support - Ensure ETL processes comply with data governance regulations and follow best practices Qualifications Required: - 4-8 years of hands-on experience with ETL development using SSIS - Strong SQL Server and T-SQL skills - Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices - Experience with flat files, Excel, APIs, or other common data sources - Familiarity with job scheduling and monitoring tools like SQL Agent - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Additional Details: The company emphasizes collaboration and communication with data architects, business analysts, and reporting teams.
