Estimation Manager - Civil

Job Objective:

To lead the estimation and costing process for national and state-level road and highway infrastructure projects, ensuring precision in quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and cost optimization for competitive bidding and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tendering & Pre-bid Estimation

• Review and interpret tender documents including BOQs, drawings, technical specs, and contractual clauses.
  
• Prepare cost estimates for NHAI, MoRTH, and State PWD highway projects.
  
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and GFCs (Good for Construction drawings).
  
• Participate in bid preparation, pricing strategy, and proposal documentation.
  

2. Rate Analysis & Costing

• Conduct detailed rate analysis of road works: embankment, sub-base, base, bituminous layers, culverts, bridges, utility works, etc.
  
• Use standard data books (e.g., MoRTH, CPWD) and supplier quotes to prepare rate break-ups.
  
• Benchmark costs with historical data and market rates.
  

3. Coordination

• Collaborate with planning, procurement, and execution teams for resource inputs and validation.
  
• Interact with vendors, subcontractors, and consultants for rates and technical clarifications.
  

4. Cost Control Support

• Provide input for budget planning and cost monitoring at project execution stages.
  
• Support in value engineering and cost optimization exercises.
  

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain updated cost database and vendor rates.
  
• Prepare comparison sheets, cost summaries, and MIS reports for management.
  

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of highway engineering, IRC & MoRTH standards.
  
• Proficient in estimation and costing software like

• Experience with NHAI, MoRTH, or State PWD highway projects is

  mandatory

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  
• Knowledge of contract types EPC, HAM, Item Rate.
