Estimation Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates. Analyze and evaluate tender documents, BOQs, and scope of work. Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and technical documents. Prepare preliminary budgets, detailed cost estimates, and value engineering options. Coordinate with procurement and subcontractors for accurate pricing of materials and services. Prepare and compile tender submissions including technical and commercial proposals. Maintain a database of cost and pricing trends to support future estimation efforts. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarify scope-related issues. Collaborate with the planning and engineering teams to align estimates with construction methodologies and timelines. Ensure estimates meet legal, quality, and safety standards. Support contract negotiation and post-tender clarifications. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 3–5 years of relevant experience in estimation within the construction or contracting industry. Proficiency in estimation and quantity take-off software (e.g., AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CCS Candy, MS Excel). Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills. Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preferred: Experience in both pre-contract and post-contract estimation. Knowledge of local market rates and suppliers. Previous experience working with large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects.
