Enterprise Architect

The Principal Enterprise Architect will lead the evolution and maturity of the company s Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy, services, and operating model. This fully remote position plays a pivotal role in shaping IT direction, driving alignment between technology and business objectives, and managing the EA function across the organization.

As a key technology leader, the Principal Enterprise Architect will recruit, mentor, and develop a team of enterprise architects, fostering collaboration and ensuring EA initiatives support broader business outcomes. The role requires a strong understanding of business and financial levers, the ability to identify strategic gaps in IT plans, and the expertise to guide leadership on technology investments that deliver measurable value.

You ll partner closely with business leaders, product managers, and external partners to assess risks, advise on product and architectural decisions, and promote a unified technology vision. This position will also champion continuous improvement of the architecture governance model, ensuring standards, policies, and best practices are consistently applied across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the evolution of EA strategy, services, and operating model.


• Manage the Enterprise Architecture function recruiting, developing, and mentoring team members.


• Drive collaboration across architects and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.


• Advise business and IT leaders on strategic IT investments aligned with business outcomes.


• Develop and communicate the value and strategy of enterprise architecture across IT and business units.


• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.


• Lead discussions with product and business leaders on technology risks and architecture implications.


• Provide vision and guidance on technology planning and investment prioritization.


• Conduct gap analyses of IT systems and propose roadmaps to address architecture deficiencies.


• Define IT s target technology vision and oversee implementation roadmaps.


• Continuously improve architecture governance models and ensure adherence to standards.


• Build and oversee an architecture practitioner network to promote best practices across IT.

Requirements

• 10+ years in IT architecture or business strategy, including at least three disciplines (e.g., operations planning, business analysis).


• 5+ years leading and mentoring IT professionals, preferably architects.


• Experience architecting Cloud or SaaS applications; strong grasp of SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, and analytics.


• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and governance best practices.


• Familiarity with information management, SDLC, ITIL, DevOps, CI/CD practices.


• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven success leading enterprise-wide modernization or transformation initiatives.


• Broad experience designing complex application and infrastructure solutions.


• Knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, NoSQL, JDBC, and Data Grid.


• Awareness of emerging technologies and evolving processing environments.
