Engineering Manager - Java

As an Engineering Manager based in NOIDA, India, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership to major projects. Your primary duties will include building and managing a team of 15-20 top-notch engineers, optimizing code, and ensuring engineers can optimize theirs. You will also manage business goals, contribute to product strategy, and facilitate team development. Key Responsibilities: - Create clear career paths for team members and support their growth through regular and deep mentoring. - Conduct regular performance evaluations and actively seek feedback. - Collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Development, and Operations teams to deliver scalable and high-quality technology solutions rapidly. - Demonstrate experience in architecting and implementing large-scale services across multiple systems and groups. - Take equal responsibility for the success or failure of various initiatives. - Excel in low-level design by creating classes with clear responsibilities. - Oversee the production deployment of code and provide support for any production bugs. - Adapt to ambiguity and the fast-paced environment effectively. Qualifications Required: - Strong leadership skills to mentor engineers. - Proficiency in system design with a deep understanding of distributed systems, particularly highly transactional, large relational, and complex systems. - Proficiency in Java, PHP, Python, Linux, Apache, MySQL, Solr, Memcache, Redis, JavaScript, Ajax, etc. - Familiarity with Microservices, NoSQL databases, and various communication protocols such as REST, Message queues, and RPC. - Exposure to functional programming and/or event-driven programming. - Understanding of production and cloud architecture, such as AWS. - Extensive hands-on technical experience in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis. - Minimum of 9-12 years of experience in a top-tier product company with some team management experience. - A BE/BTech degree in Computer Science or equivalent from premium colleges.
