What Youll Do:

• Drive System Architecture Scale: Design and evolve the architecture of our multi-product platform comprising wearables, IoT edge devices, and cloud applications. Champion scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems using a modern microservices architecture.
• Own Product Delivery End-to-End: Lead the technical delivery of our core products including the fatigue risk engine, crew assist, environmental monitoring, and compliance platforms. Deliver high-quality, secure, and performant systems across backend, frontend, data pipelines, and wearable devices.
• Define and Execute the Technical Roadmap:Collaborate with product and business stakeholders across regions to define the roadmap, align technical strategy with business goals, and ensure timely execution of initiatives.
• Build and Lead a High-Performance Engineering Team: Grow, mentor, and retain a team of world-class engineers, engineering managers, and architects. Foster a culture of ownership, agility, technical excellence, and collaboration.
• Lead Complex Cross-Functional Projects: Oversee the implementation of large-scale projects across domains such as health tracking, MQTT-based real-time messaging, predictive analytics, and compliance logging.
• Ensure Engineering Operational Excellence: Establish and continuously improve engineering best practices around development lifecycle, DevOps, observability, testing, and security. Enforce CI/CD, documentation,and cloud-native operations.
• Advance AI and Data Strategy: Collaborate with Data Science and Product teams to design, deploy and evolve AI/ML capabilities such as fatigue prediction, anomaly detection, and safety incident forecasting.
• Be a Technology Evangelist: Represent engineering across internal and external forums. Champion client mission in the areas of maritime safety, health tech, and industrial IoT.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering with at least 4 years leading engineering teams or managing engineering managers.
• Proven track record of leading high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams in
• fast-paced environments.
• Strong experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and scalable backend development.
• Deep technical expertise in Java, Node.js, React, GraphQL, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.
• Prior experience working with IoT protocols (especially MQTT) and building sensor driven platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), containerization (Docker), and modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with edge computing, time-series data, and real-time analytics.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML integration into product workflows, including streaming analytics.
• Exposure to maritime safety use cases is a strong plus.
• Experience managing complex projects across geographies, including coordination with global stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
• Passion for safety, wellbeing, and sustainability technologies.
