Title of the position - Engineer – Server Admin Location - Hosur About The Business Tata Electronics Pvt. Responsibilities Conduct daily server health checks and monitoring to ensure optimal performance. Provide first-level (L1) support for hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtual environments. Manage virtual machine creation, resource allocation, and VM snapshots. Offer L1/L2 support for virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V. Log and categorize incidents in the ticketing system, escalating to L2/L3 support when necessary. Monitor backups, disk space, CPU usage, and critical services. Assist in the deployment and patching of operating systems and applications. Maintain server room documentation, asset inventory, and cabling diagrams. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware replacements or updates. Support users with basic access issues, including Active Directory and file permissions. Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards. Participate in on-call support as required. Essential Attributes Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). Proficiency in monitoring tools and ticketing systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain documentation and coordinate with vendors. Commitment to adhering to IT security and compliance standards. Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations. Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, BCA, MCA, or a related field. Experience : 4–5 years of relevant experience in Windows server administration and virtual machine management. Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have): Microsoft Windows Server Certification VMware Certified Professional
