About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team in Chennai. You will be responsible for developing embedded software and firmware for x86/ARM-based systems, focusing on board bring-up, device drivers, and Linux BSP development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) and embedded firmware.
• Develop and optimize low-level drivers and middleware for peripheral devices.
• Customize and maintain Linux kernels, device trees, and bootloaders (U-Boot).
• Work with Yocto or Buildroot to build and maintain Linux distributions.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and test teams for seamless system integration.
• Support board bring-up, debugging, and validation on VPX/VME and embedded platforms.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

• Strong programming skills in C / C++ for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux, kernel customization, and driver development.
• Proficiency with U-Boot, device trees, and cross-compilation environments.
• Familiarity with Git, GDB, JTAG, and standard embedded debugging tools.
• Experience with Yocto Project or Buildroot build systems.
• Exposure to avionics, defense, or rugged embedded systems is an advantage.
