As a Hardware Architect at EL SEWEDY ELECTROMETER INDIA, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing hardware architecture for basic and smart energy meters. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing hardware architecture for energy meters, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as IEC and IS. - Developing schematics, PCB layouts, and circuit designs for energy meters, focusing on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. - Selecting and evaluating components like microcontrollers, power supplies, communication modules, sensors, etc., essential for meter designs. - Integrating DLMS/COSEM protocols for seamless interoperability with DCUs and cloud-based HES/MDM systems. - Collaborating with firmware developers, software engineers, and testing teams to optimize hardware-software integration. - Conducting hardware validation, debugging, and testing to ensure robust and reliable meter performance. - Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for energy meters like BIS, IEC, and IS. - Collaborating with production and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth mass production and address any design issues during manufacturing. - Staying updated with the latest advancements in energy metering technologies, communication protocols, and power management solutions. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/ Electrical or Embedded Systems Engineering. - 3 to 7 years of experience in hardware design and development for energy meters or similar embedded systems. - Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout tools like Altium/ OrCAD. - Experience with microcontroller-based designs (ARM, MSP430, STM32, etc.). - Knowledge of communication technologies such as RS-485, RF, PLC, GPRS, NB-IoT. - Understanding of DLMS/COSEM protocols and smart metering standards. - Hands-on experience in hardware debugging, testing, and EMI/EMC compliance. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team. - Familiarity with IoT-based smart metering solutions is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with energy metering standards (IEC 62052, IEC 62053, IS 16444, etc.). - Knowledge of cloud integration and HES/MDM system compatibility. - Exposure to power supply design and energy-efficient circuit development.
