Job Summary
The ELV BIM Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and delivering Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across projects. This includes ICT, Security, Fire Alarm, BMS interfaces, Audio-Visual, and other ELV systems. The role ensures BIM standards compliance, coordination with other disciplines, and high-quality model and drawing deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Management & Coordination
- Lead BIM implementation for ELV systems in accordance with project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Manage ELV BIM models (LOD 300500) using Revit and related BIM tools.
- Coordinate ELV models with Architectural, Structural, MEP, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct and manage clash detection (Navisworks / ACC) and resolve coordination issues.
- Ensure compliance with client, consultant, and international BIM standards (ISO 19650).
Design & Technical Oversight
- Oversee modeling and detailing of ELV systems including:
- Structured Cabling (ICT)
- CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Public Address / Voice Evacuation
- Audio-Visual Systems
- BMS / IBS interfaces
- Review and validate ELV shop drawings, layouts, schematics, and as-built models.
- Ensure constructability and coordination with site execution teams.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor ELV BIM Engineers and Modelers.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs.
- Conduct regular model audits and quality checks.
Project Delivery & Documentation
- Prepare and manage BIM deliverables, including:
- Coordinated 3D models
- Shop drawings and installation drawings
- As-built models and COBie data
- Support project meetings, coordination workshops, and client reviews.
- Ensure timely submission of BIM deliverables aligned with project milestones.
Digital Tools & Processes
- Utilize and manage BIM platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC.
- Support Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
- Implement automation, families, templates, and BIM best practices for ELV.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in ELV systems, with at least 3–5 years in a BIM management role.
- Strong expertise in ELV design, installation, and coordination.
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Autodesk Revit (ELV modeling)
- Navisworks (clash detection)
- AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of BIM standards (ISO 19650, LOD, BEP, CDE).
- Experience on large-scale projects (commercial, residential, healthcare, airports, data centers).
Preferred Certifications
- Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit)
- BIM Professional Certification (buildingSMART / RICS / equivalent)
- PMP or equivalent project management certification (added advantage)
