Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Electronics Technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting electronic devices and modules used in our product ecosystem. The role involves hands-on work with PCB assemblies, sensors, communication modules, and finished electronic units to ensure high-quality and reliable production output.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assembly & Fabrication

  • Assemble electronic devices, PCB modules, wiring harnesses, and enclosures as per SOPs and engineering drawings.
  • Perform soldering (SMD & through-hole), crimping, cable routing, and fitting of sensors/PCBs.
  • Build prototypes for new product development and assist in engineering trials.

2. Testing & Quality Control

  • Conduct functional testing of hardware units using multimeters, oscilloscopes, test jigs, and diagnostic tools.
  • Run calibration procedures for sensors, temperature modules, RF modules, and communication interfaces.
  • Identify assembly defects and ensure units meet quality and performance standards.

3. Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose faults at component, PCB, and system level.
  • Rectify wiring, connector issues, soldering defects, or component failures.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering team for design improvements.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate test reports, inspection logs, and assembly documentation.
  • Report recurrent issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Follow established SOPs and update checklists when needed.

5. Cross-Functional Support

  • Support Production, R&D, and Customer Support teams in root-cause analysis.
  • Assist during field installation testing or remote diagnostics when required.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality assurance activities.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit boards, and hardware assembly.
  • Proficiency in soldering (including fine-pitch SMD).
  • Experience with test instruments: multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generators, power supply.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, RS485, LoRa/WiFi preferred).
  • Troubleshooting mindset with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with ESD safety practices and cleanroom/lab environment rules.

Education

  • Diploma / ITI  / Electrical / electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Certifications in soldering, PCB rework, or electronics testing are an added advantage.

Work Environment

  • Electronics assembly lab / production floor.
  • Interaction with R&D, Production, and Support teams.
