Electronics Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Inspector with experience in inspecting cable harnesses, PCB assemblies, and electronic units. The role requires strong knowledge of IPC standards, harness assembly guidelines, ESD practices, and component-level inspection. The inspector will ensure electronic assemblies and subsystems conform to industry and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental tests such as thermal cycling, vibration, humidity, altitude, shock, and ingress protection (IP) tests on electronic units

  • Perform EMI/EMC testing as per applicable military, automotive, or aerospace standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, CISPR, ISO 7637, DO-160)

  • Prepare and verify test setups, fixtures, and monitoring instruments.

  • Ensure test parameters are maintained as per the test plan, and anomalies are reported.

  • Assist in the configuration and operation of data acquisition systems and EMI/EMC test receivers.

  • Document all test procedures, results, and observations accurately and generate detailed test reports.

  • Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot failures and support root cause analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with lab safety, ESD, and calibration requirements.,

  • Participate in audits and maintain readiness for regulatory and customer inspections.

  • Support test automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the lab

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical certification

  • Degree with min.5 years and Diploma with 7+ years of overall experience

  • 35 years of experience in inspection of cable harnesses and electronic assemblies.

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).

  • Understanding of electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.

  • Hands-on experience with standard electronic inspection tools and methods.

Preferred Skills:

  • IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (CIS/CIT) preferred.

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-2000, J-STD-001, or aerospace electronics standards is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 lab practices

  • Working experience in defense, aerospace, or automotive electronics inspection.

  • Basic knowledge of functional testing and troubleshooting is a plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and electronic QMS/ERP systems.

  • Inspection of printed circuit boards (PCBs)

  • Electronic and mechanical assembly processes

  • CPU and electronic component inspection

  • Control panel inspection and quality assurance
