Electrician - Steel yard

The Electrician in the steel yard is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment used in yard operations. This includes cranes, cutting machines, lighting systems, power distribution, and other yard electrical infrastructure. The role ensures safe, uninterrupted operations through preventive maintenance and prompt troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in the steel yard.
• Troubleshoot faults in cranes, hoists, cutting machines, motors, panels, and other electrical devices.
• Install and maintain electrical wiring, conduits, switches, distribution boxes, and control panels.
• Ensure yard lighting systems (flood lights, tower lights, etc.) are functioning properly.
• Conduct preventive maintenance as per schedule to avoid equipment breakdown.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment or electrical upgrades.
• Maintain records of electrical work, service reports, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and use of PPE.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns or emergency electrical issues.

Skills & Qualifications:

• ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Overall 10+ years of experience as a Electrician
• 2–5 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably in steel yard or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and wiring layouts.
• Experience with cranes, hoists, and industrial machinery (added advantage).
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in yard/outdoor conditions.

Additional Requirements:

• Must follow all electrical and workplace safety protocols.
• Ability to work in shifts or overtime when required.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,335.59 - ₹31,108.09 per month
