Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician for our Steel Melting Shop (SMS) in Raipur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work related to melting furnaces, EOT cranes, and auxiliary SMS equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine electrical maintenance and inspection of SMS equipment including Induction Furnaces, Arc Furnaces, Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRF), and EOT Cranes.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in power/control circuits, PLC systems, and drives.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on HT/LT motors, transformers, panels, and MCCs.
• Monitor and maintain electrical systems for continuous operation of melting furnaces.
• Replace faulty wiring, cables, breakers, contactors, relays, and switches as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and electrical safety standards.
• Maintain daily logs and records of maintenance work.
• Assist in shutdown maintenance, equipment overhauls, and new installations.
• Coordinate with the production and mechanical teams for efficient plant operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Good knowledge of electrical systems used in SMS (especially furnace operations)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and SCADA systems
• Knowledge of safety norms and electrical regulations
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and in shift-based operations

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SMS or related heavy industrial environment
