Position Overview We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chemist to manage and monitor the chemical analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in our Sponge Iron and Steel Melting Shop (SMS) unit. The ideal candidate will ensure quality control through timely and accurate analysis and contribute to process optimization in a steel manufacturing setup. Submit the same to Head Energy Audit for further analysis. Work closely with the Plant Maintenance (PM) & Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) team to collect and collate relevant data points for the energy generation and energy consumption assessments of production units as well as key equipment and machinery. Support the Head Energy Audit with the development, and preparation of all energy cost control and cost reduction mechanisms recommendations and associated audit data & findings for presentation of the same at relevant DRM, CRM, MAT and SCM events. Monitor, document, and report the development of plan of action as well as the appropriate implementation of the said action items. Support the Head Energy audit with the assessment and documentation of the effectiveness of the said action items as well as for developing subsequent action items and/or amendments to existing action items in case of deviant results. Prepare all mandatory documents pertaining to energy consumption and generation for periodic submission to governmental agencies and regulatory bodies as well as for replying to general and technical inquiries made by the authorities. Provide technical expertise and support to the Corporate Affairs team for the purposes of liaising with various governmental and regulatory agencies. Guide and support the audit professionals from governmental and regulatory bodies during the mandatory plant audits. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Engineer to oversee the maintenance and reliability of mechanical equipment in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS). The candidate will ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation of critical equipment such as EAFs, ladle furnaces, cranes, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulics. Key Responsibilities : Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in the SMS department. Supervise and maintain mechanical systems related to: Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) Induction Furnace Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRF) Continuous Casting Machines (CCM) Ladles, cranes, and hydraulic systems Monitor equipment performance and initiate timely repairs or replacements. Maintain inventory of critical spares and coordinate with the purchase team. Prepare maintenance schedules and logs. Ensure minimum downtime and improve plant availability. Coordinate with operations and electrical teams for integrated plant functioning. Lead mechanical maintenance team and contractors during major overhauls. Maintain compliance with safety standards and company SOPs. Support implementation of TPM, 5S, and cost reduction initiatives. Required Skills & Competencies: Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of SMS equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and fabrication. Ability to read engineering drawings and layouts. Problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) skills. Leadership and team management abilities. Familiarity with SAP/CMMS systems preferred. Awareness of safety practices in a high-temperature environment.
