Job Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Raw Material Vigilance Officer to oversee and ensure the integrity, quality, and transparency of all raw material handling processes at our steel plant in Raipur. The role requires close coordination with procurement, logistics, stores, and quality control departments to monitor inflow, quality, and usage of raw materials like iron ore, coal, scrap, limestone, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor inward movement of raw materials and ensure compliance with approved quality and quantity standards.
• Conduct surprise inspections and audits at material receiving points (e.g., weighbridges, unloading points).
• Verify gate entry registers, weighment slips, supplier challans, and stock ledgers.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all raw material inward and consumption activities.
• Investigate discrepancies related to weight, quality, or material diversion and report irregularities to senior management.
• Liaise with vendors, transporters, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparent and efficient supply chain operations.
• Work in close coordination with the Quality Control team to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
• Assist the Procurement and Stores department in identifying and flagging suspicious transactions or quality concerns.
• Maintain a strict vigil against pilferage, manipulation, or any unethical practices during unloading and storage.
• Prepare periodic reports on vigilance findings and suggest corrective/preventive actions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Graduate in Science / Commerce / Engineering. Additional certifications in vigilance, audits, or materials management preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in raw material handling, vigilance, or audit role in a steel, power, or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials used in steel manufacturing (iron ore, coal, dolomite, scrap, etc.).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and material tracking software.
• Strong analytical, auditing, and documentation skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and report writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
