Job Summary:

The Welder – Furnace & Spares (Mechanical) is responsible for executing welding and mechanical maintenance tasks related to the repair, fabrication, and installation of furnace components and associated mechanical spares in the Ferro Alloys department. The role ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding tasks (arc, MIG, TIG, gas cutting, etc.) for repair and fabrication of furnace and mechanical components.
• Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of furnace structures, water-cooled panels, and related mechanical systems.
• Inspect, identify, and report wear or damage on furnace shells, ducting, electrode arms, cooling systems, and spares.
• Assist in alignment, fitting, and assembly of mechanical parts during maintenance shutdowns or overhauls.
• Maintain proper welding procedures and documentation for all repair and fabrication works.
• Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation teams for integrated maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols during hot work and confined space operations.
• Maintain inventory of critical spares and request procurement as needed.
• Support modifications or upgrades to furnace equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Maintain housekeeping and compliance in the mechanical workshop and furnace area.

Qualifications and Experience:

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Welding Technology.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in heavy fabrication/welding in a ferro alloys or metallurgical plant environment.
• Certified welder (if applicable) with knowledge of welding codes and standards.
• Experience with furnaces (Submerged Arc Furnace or Electric Arc Furnace preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical blueprints.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
