The ideal candidate will have over 5-8 years of expertise in Sales & Service Engineering, with a deep understanding of customer relationship management, technical product support, and sales strategy. This role will require a professional with a proven ability to lead technical support activities, manage client relationships, and drive revenue growth in the electrical field. Job Description: Irya SmarTec is looking for a Service Engineer to join our team, specializing in the maintenance, commissioning, and servicing of high-voltage electrical systems and switchgear equipment. This role involves managing industrial and utility customers, overseeing project execution, and providing technical support for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience with MV and HV switchgear panels, protection relays, and fault diagnosis, along with strong communication and negotiation skills. Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Management: Lead the erection, testing, and commissioning of MV and HV switchgear panels (up to 220kV), control & relay panels, and associated equipment. Manage project planning and execution for major installations, including overhauling and retrofitting high voltage breakers (66kV, 110kV, 220kV). Coordinate with clients to ensure smooth supply chain management and payment follow-ups until the sales cycle is completed. Handle technical and price negotiations, provide quotations, and oversee vendor registration and tender handling. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Conduct installation, testing, and commissioning of protection relays, numerical/electro-mechanical relays, and related electrical systems. Troubleshoot and provide technical support for high voltage breakers, RMUs, and associated electrical components. Perform regular maintenance activities for VCBs, SF6 breakers, and RMUs for private and government customers. Conduct testing of CTs and PTs, ensuring full compliance with electrical system standards. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain project reports and test reports after successful project completion, documenting key milestones and compliance. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of service activities, including troubleshooting results and ongoing technical assessments. Compliance & Safety: Provide technical and commercial compliances for clarifications raised by utility and private customers, ensuring full regulatory adherence. Ensure all installations and services are compliant with safety standards and industry regulations, adhering to local and international electrical codes. Customer Coordination & Follow-Up: Collaborate with customers for project execution, ensuring effective communication and resolving any issues during and after the installation phase. Follow up on payment and invoice matters, ensuring timely closure of service contracts. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree or Diploma in electrical engineering or related field. Certifications in Electrical Systems or related technical areas would be a plus. Experience: 3 8 Years of proven experience in service engineering for high-voltage systems, including experience with switchgear, control panels, protection relays, and breaker retrofitting. Hands-on experience with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of MV and HV electrical systems. Previous experience in handling customer relationships, technical support, and sales coordination. Experience with electrical project management and handling technical negotiations with clients. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of switchgear panels, VCBs, SF6 breakers, RMUs, and other high-voltage equipment. Expertise in testing and commissioning of protection relays, CTs, PTs, and related electrical equipment. Familiarity with testing tools for troubleshooting electrical systems (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, relay test sets). Understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for high-voltage system maintenance. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction. Ability to negotiate and manage customer expectations effectively, especially during technical meetings and sales discussions. Team-oriented with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Certification or training on Protection Relay Testing or related areas. Knowledge of Kannada would be an advantage Must own a vehicle for daily travel Preferred Skills Annual maintenance and troubleshooting of high voltage breakers and RMUs across various customer locations. Handling turnkey projects for customers in the industrial and utility sectors, including electrical testing and fault resolution. The Service Engineer will work in a dynamic environment requiring regular travel to customer locations for project execution, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role also demands close interaction with internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
