Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Serve as the Technical Lead for all electrical engineering aspects of utility-scale projects, focusing on site optimization, trenching, and cable routing for large arrays
• Lead the design and engineering for the 33kV evacuation line and interconnection to the 33/11kV substation (e.g., feeder bay extension).
• Design the optimal DC field layout and wiring topology (e.g., central vs. string inverters) to maximize energy harvesting while minimizing Balance of System (BOS) costs.
• Drive the LCOE optimization process by evaluating different equipment configurations and designs.
• Design the AC collection system, including 33 kV or 66 kV medium-voltage (MV) lines, cable selection, and routing to the project substation.
• Specify and design the electrical infrastructure for the Pooling Substation 110 kV 220 kV or higher, including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, protection schemes, and metering systems.
• Lead complex Grid Interconnection Studies (e.g., load flow, transient stability, short circuit, grounding analysis) using software like ETAP
• Ensure strict compliance with the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Technical Standards for Connectivity to the grid, including reactive power capability and LVRT/HVRT requirements.
• Manage and review all detailed engineering deliverables, including protection relay settings, control logic diagrams, and MV/HV cable specifications and testing procedures.
• Oversee the selection of major electrical equipment (Inverters, Transformers, Switchgear), working closely with procurement for technical compliance.
• Provide expert support during the construction, testing, and commissioning phase, ensuring the MV\HV works are executed as per international and Indian standards.
• Mentor and train junior and mid-level electrical engineers.
• Finalize all technical reports, as-built drawings, and operational manuals for project handover.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum [5+] years of progressive experience in electrical design and engineering, with a focus on utility-scale ground-mounted PV projects >25 MW and 33kV interconnection
• Expert in PVsyst and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software like ETAP
• Deep working knowledge of MV\HV substation design, protection schemes, and Grid Code requirements (Central and State)
• Certification: Prior experience securing CEIG approval for MV\HV systems is highly desirable.
