Job Description

  • Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and validate electrical systems for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct testing and validation of EV/HEV components, including batteries, motors, charging systems, and thermal management systems.
  • Develop technical documentation and reports on project progress and results.
  • Provide support for new product development projects related to EV/HEV technology.

  • Design and develop electrical systems for EVs, including wiring harnesses, control units, battery management systems (BMS), inverters, and chargers.

  • Create and interpret electrical schematics, harness drawings, and component specifications.

  • Support the integration of high-voltage systems (e.g., battery packs, electric drive units, power distribution modules).

  • Perform simulations and calculations to validate design parameters (current, voltage, thermal limits, etc.).

  • Conduct root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical system failures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, thermal, manufacturing) during design, prototyping, and validation stages.

  • Assist in EMC/EMI testing and functional safety assessments.

  • Work with suppliers to evaluate and select electrical components that meet design and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure designs conform to applicable standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and IATF 16949.

  • Participate in FMEAs, design reviews, and system verification and validation testing.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 6-8 years of experience in automotive or industrial electronics domain with expertise in battery management system (BMS), high voltage DCDC converters, power electronics, vehicle electrical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) from a recognized university; knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ev charging infrastructure requirements; familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standard an added advantage.
