The Boeing Company is currently seeking highly motivated, creative and digitally-savvy Experienced Engineering Technical Specialists - Process & Tools . That position is assigned to the BCA Digital Engineering team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering value stream; this position will work cross-functionally and across organizational boundaries to accomplish BCA engineering business objectives. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have demonstrated experience working with multiple engineering tools related to electrical engineering as well as Product Lifecyle Management and digital visualization tools. They will also have a high degree of customer focus and ability to clearly share knowledge regarding BCA's engineering processes and tools. In this position you will work directly with the engineering teams and provide technical support on the processes and tools deployed on our Boeing Commercial Airplane programs. This includes working with the End Users to understand and document their issues within our enterprise issues management system and then find solutions to get them back to productivity as soon as possible. You will be working in collaboration with Boeing Designated process and tools Experts, the product teams and IT to troubleshoot and identify root cause and resolve the issues. You will Implement robust reporting mechanisms to provide status of all open issues and metrics for all tickets and ensure SLA is met. This role will be based out of Bangalore, India. Position Responsibilities: Develops, documents, implements, provides consultation on the application of, and ensures compliance with, requirements for use of engineering tools, processes and standards Provides informal training and assistance in the utilization of processes and tools and supports the integration of engineering designs With a customer focus mindset, provides direct Engineering processes and tools end-user support resolving issues and communicating productivity enhancements and procedures; continually enhances end-user support services Identifies and validates user access roles, produces job aids and knowledge articles and understands system interoperability. Provides targeted software functionality and regression test services to BCA prior to major IT software releases Provides ad-hoc assistance to the Design Engineer community to accomplish their business priorities and maintains vital business relationships between business units, programs, IT, IT suppliers, IT support and training organizations Leads development, documentation, implementation and consultation of the application of, and compliance with, requirements for the use of engineering tools, processes and standards. Guides training and provides subject matter expertise in the utilization of processes, tools and integration of engineering designs. Guides configuration management, coordination of changes, assessments of compliance. Represents Company interests on external standards committees and develops, adapts and/or adopts external standards for internal use. Directs the development, maintenance and distribution of engineering documents, reports and correspondence to enable business activity. Leads the collection, analysis and validation of engineering performance metrics and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs. Works under minimal direction. Job Requirements Delivery submarine cable engineering for specified projects, including wind farm layout, cable routing, cable sizing, development of technical documentation and decisions, review and assurance activities. Review, comment, and approve design documentation, quality plans and other procedures as appropriate. Technical assurance of suppliers engineering scope, ensuring that the work meets bp and project requirements. Integration and management of interfaces between the submarine cable suppliers and the rest of the project Provide engineering support to electrical system design for specified projects during concept development and pre-bid. Support will include developing wind farm electrical system design, cable layouts and sizing. Identify and manage key engineering and delivery risks and provide input to project risk management and mitigation action plans. Demonstrate good safe work practices and be proactive in ensuring safe practices at all times including a strong influence role with suppliers. Identify Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks and communicate as appropriate Working with procurement, supporting the supplier selection and award process for submarine cables. Support tender clarification/evaluation and contractor/vendor selection, ensuring all activities are in accordance with bp’s Code of Conduct. Build strong working relationships with the key suppliers. Help develop the wider supply chain of HV cable manufacturers – AVL status, audits and supplier management. Part of a global engineering and delivery team, sharing lessons and collaborating across Projects. Provide technical mentoring to junior members of the team. Work Experience Essential Education Bachelors’ Degree or higher qualification in an engineering discipline. Essential Experience and Job Requirements 5+ years experience working with submarine / subsea power cables. 3+ years experience working with Offshore Wind. In depth working knowledge of HV submarine cable design, manufacture and installation. In depth working knowledge of offshore wind farm electrical cable system design. Good interpersonal and communication skills In-depth knowledge of good engineering practice
